Radio Frequency is the latest technique being incorporated into anti-ageing skin treatments.
Dermal Matrix Therapy Radio Frequency helps tighten skin on the face and body through the use of heat which penetrates deep into dermis layer and stimulates the production of collagen.
The radio frequency is generated through a Dermal Matrix machine with various metal attachments. For the face, there are two different sized pads which are massaged over the skin during the 40 minute treatment.
Dina Matters of Contours Face and Body Clinic says she monitored the development of the treatment for several years before introducing it into her Salons.
“In the past 12 months it’s reached a point of being an accepted and well recognised method of tightening the skin and the equipment has become safe and less invasive” she says.
The procedure will feel warm on the skin but should be comfortable at all times.
As a facial treatment, it can be used alone or combined with another service, depending on individual needs. Contours Face and Body Clinic teams radio frequency and IPL (intense pulsed light) in it’s Dream Lift treatment.
“It’s extremely popular as the collagen stimulation is enhanced and increased through the double treatment effect” she says.
After radio frequency the skin may retain some heat and can look slightly red but makeup can be applied straight away.
“There’s no pain or downtime and the results are instant” Dina says.
As with all skin treatments customers should check with their salon about possible side effects. Treatments range from $99 to $300 and package prices are available.
